The Sylvia Kho Bridal Show and Exhibition

This was a multi faceted event held in September 2003 after a year of active planning and collaboration with external supporters. In 2002 Mrs Sylvia Kho, then 84 years old had kindly donated a collection of gowns from her shop for sale. In her early days, she was a famous designer of wedding gowns and dressed the who's who of Singapore society for their weddings. In her 70's she had to retire unexpectedly due to a fall and she had a significant number of exquisite wedding dresses yet to be sold. A high tea bridal fashion show was organized to show case the wedding gowns and also to raise funds through the sale of tickets. In addition the club organized a 9 day exhibition and sale of her gowns at Tanglin Mall.

After a very successful show and exhibition, over $70,000 was raised for the
St Luke's Hospital for the Elderly.

National Museum of Singapore has on permanent exhibit of one of Mrs Sylvia Kho’s wedding gown, a fitting tribute to one of Singapore’s earliest woman entrepreneurs.
